COURSE FOCUS

"Paper-Like Displays" or "Electronic Paper" are terms that can be used to describe key products in a new generation of visual displays that are forecast to be a major imaging market growth area. These displays are based on the development and convergence of several quite different technologies and are targeted at an unprecedented range of applications - from microdisplays for mobile phones to very large panels for electronic billboards. The new and improved displays have attracted more investment than any other technology area in recent years, from established giants like IBM and Philips, from venture funds and from a host of other sources.

These display technologies are forecast to have a major impact on our future personal and business lives as they replace paper and signage as well as enable new products and applications unable to be served by current paper-based and electronics technologies. Thus, paper-like displays represent both a threat to traditional paper-based products as well as a significant opportunity for new product development and implementation.

To get up to speed with these emerging technologies and to assess the impact and time scale of paper-like displays on your business; you need to attend this course. Presented by Tom Ashley of Pivotal Resources USA, this course will describe how each technology works, show via a roadmap how the various technologies and applications are predicted to evolve and gauge the impact on traditional paper-based technologies.
