Laser printing (Electrophotography or Toner Based Printing Systems) remains the dominant digital printing technology based on the number of pages printed annually. Laser printing continues to make technology advancements in product functionality, cost performance, print quality, connectivity, color printing capabilities, etc. Such improvements are required for to meet the competitive challenges of ink jet and other printing technologies as well as to enable the development of new markets and applications. Applications such as color business printing, internet printing, multifunction printers, digital presses, digital color copier/printers, industrial printing, etc. are providing market opportunities for laser printing technology, but in an ever increasingly competitive environment. This conference program, the only 2003 conference devoted entirely to laser printing, is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive assessment of technology, application and market development trends that will determine laser printing's role in the overall printing marketplace. Detailed analysis of issues such as cost of ownership, print quality, supplies developments and industry standards will provide new insights into the future of laser printing. The formal sessions and informal networking sessions provide a unique, interactive environment for leading hardware, consumables, components, software, system integrator and user company representatives to network and develop an improved understanding of current developments and other forces that are shaping laser printing's role in the increasingly competitive digital printing industry. The Electrophotographic Printing Technology Seminar leading off the conference program and provides an insightful summary of electrophotographic printing's current state-of-the-art and technological development trends critical to the successful future of laser printing.
