THE FOLLOWING OUTLINE IS THE ACTUAL PROGRAM FROM THE

1st DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
January 24–26, 2000
Renaissance Orlando Hotel
Orlando, Florida
sponsored by
Information Management Institute, Inc.

Conference Focus

Digital Asset Management is evolving rapidly and represents both major opportunities and potential pitfalls to printers, print buyers and printer industry vendors. Simply stated, Digital Asset Management (sometimes referred to as "Media Asset Management" or "Content Management") is the systematic cataloging and management of digital rich media: text, images, video and audio, so that they can be reused and/or reexpressed at a later time. However, the interacting issues of intellectual property rights, e-commerce, workflow, system management, etc. all combine to create misunderstanding and confusion in the digital asset management world.

This conference is designed to explore the current state-of-the-art and future capabilities of Digital Asset Management solutions as well as current users’ experiences and the issues critical to the industry's adoption and utilization of Digital Asset Management options.

By effectively utilizing Digital Asset Management, a company can dramatically improve profits by reducing costs, decreasing time to market, increasing revenue and creating a reliable shared-repository of digital assets. However, understanding all the options, selecting the most appropriate solutions, implementing and managing chosen systems all require up to date knowledge of the rapidly developing digital asset management field.

Leading technologists, experts and users will address the digital asset management development trends and innovations that are shaping the printing industry's future. In conjunction with IMI's 8th Annual Digital Electronic Printing Presses Conference being held January 26-28, 2000 at the same location, this program will provide a unique opportunity to obtain insights and knowledge essential to the future organization and operations of printing industry vendors and users.
